Quick Answer: Nightmare Frontier has 47 achievements at 1.0, 23 with public global stats and the rest hidden. The visible list is a clean progression ladder, running from Safe Return (first extraction, 10.8%) through HQ Improvements (5.7%) to the boss kills β Defeat the Doc (0.6%) and Defeat the Abomination (0.5%) β with two brutal depth grinds at the bottom (depth 100 in the Slums at 0.3%, the Docks at 0.1%). Plan for three skill checks rather than stumbling into them: Status Overload (4 different statuses on one enemy, 0.2%), On The Edge (extract with the whole party at 1 HP, 3.5%) and Nightmare Speedrun (a Level III+ map in under 5 turns, 7.9%).
Version note: Global rates captured July 23, 2026 from Steam's public statistics for all 23 visible achievements β launch-week numbers skew low and shift daily. Mechanics come from the official 1.0 patch notes; the depth-run time estimate from an EA review. Updated July 31 for patch 1.0.1.1651.

All 23 Public Achievements, in Progression Order
Global unlock rates double as a completion roadmap. Sorted by rate, this is roughly the order players actually earn them:
| % | Achievement | Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| 15.9% | Survive the Nightmare | Win a level at Nightmare Level I |
| 12.4% | Into the Nightmare | Complete the Prologue |
| 11.4% | Triple Threat | Kill 3 enemies in a single turn |
| 10.9% | Blitz | Win a battle within 2 rounds |
| 10.8% | Safe Return | Extract safely for the first time |
| 9.7% | Nightmare Conqueror | Win a level at Nightmare Level III |
| 7.9% | Nightmare Speedrun | Complete a Nightmare Level III+ level in under 5 turns |
| 7.4% | Graveyard Shift | Kill 100 enemies |
| 5.7% | HQ Improvements | Purchase your first HQ upgrade |
| 5.4% | Exterminator | Kill 7 or more enemies in a single round |
| 4.4% | Regular Customer | Complete 10 safe extractions |
| 3.9% | Veteran Slayer | Kill a total of 500 enemies |
| 3.5% | On The Edge | Complete extraction with all party members at 1 HP |
| 3.1% | Overkill | Deal 10+ damage in a single hit |
| 2.7% | Devastator | Deal 20 or more damage in a single hit |
| 2.1% | Department Head | Completely upgrade one department in HQ |
| 1.9% | War of Attrition | Win a battle that lasts 10 or more rounds |
| 1.5% | Old Hand | Complete 25 safe extractions |
| 0.6% | Defeat the Doc | Defeat the Doc |
| 0.5% | Defeat the Abomination | Defeat the Abomination |
| 0.3% | Slums Veteran | Reach depth 100 in the Slums district |
| 0.2% | Status Overload | Inflict 4 different status effects on one opponent |
| 0.1% | Docks Veteran | Reach depth 100 in the Docks district |
The remaining 24 are hidden, and we will not guess their names. In this genre hidden slots are typically story-progression beats β district completions, questline milestones β and the two named bosses above suggest the arc they follow.
The Skill Checks, and How the Mechanics Serve Them
Set these up deliberately. Each maps to a system covered in the Beginner Guide:
- Triple Threat / Exterminator (3 per turn / 7 per round): kill-chaining is the engine, since kills extend your turn. Treat a packed board as an opportunity. Fights with Breaches β portals spawning a Dreadweaver every enemy turn, 3-5 total β deliver the body count to you.
- Status Overload (4 different statuses on one enemy, 0.2%): ricochet shots off the right interactables add Burning, Plague or Stun to a bullet, and pushes, bleeds and other effects stack on top. Set it up with one tough enemy on a metal-rich board. This is a moment you build, not a natural drop.
- Overkill / Devastator (10+ / 20+ in one hit): aim the big hit at an enemy that is susceptible to it. Since 1.0, susceptible Dreadweavers take significantly more damage from specific effects and damage types β check their tooltips β and pair that with upgraded weapons.
- On The Edge (whole party at exactly 1 HP, 3.5%): oddly more common than several grind achievements, because desperate runs produce it naturally. If you are engineering it, use small deliberate hazard damage on an otherwise-won board rather than gambling in a real fight.
- Nightmare Speedrun (NL III+ in under 5 turns, 7.9%): pairs naturally with Blitz. Bring a small aggressive party, chain kills, and pick a "Kill All" objective with a modest spawn count.
The Long Hauls
- Kill counts (100 β 500): passive. Veteran Slayer at 3.9% mostly measures who is still playing at 30+ hours.
- Extraction counts (1 β 10 β 25): the drop from 10.8% to 1.5% across the chain says most players do not sustain the loop to 25 clean extractions. Extract early and often β good play anyway β and this grinds itself.
- Depth 100 (Slums 0.3%, Docks 0.1%): the endgame grinds. One EA reviewer reached depth 103 in about 22 hours, so expect the run to 100 to be the time sink. Watch the Docks' overboard mechanic on the way down, since any unit pushed into water is instantly defeated and that cuts both ways. The Docks being newer content at 1.0 presumably explains part of the rate gap.
- Department Head (fully upgrade one HQ department, 2.1%): Manpower-gated. Delegated Scavengers are the currency, so it competes directly with roster breadth β see the Beginner Guide for that trade-off.
Known Achievement Bug: "Fully Operational" Not Triggering (Dev Confirmed)
Status: open through two patches, no player-side fix. A player reported on July 28 that "Fully Operational" does not unlock, and a developer replied the next day: "Thank you for the report! We're on it." A second player confirmed the same problem on August 8 (thread), so it is no longer a single report. The achievement is not in the public list above, so it is one of the hidden slots. Neither 1.0.1.1651 (July 30) nor 1.0.1.1652B (August 5) mentions it β both patches shipped other fixes while this stayed open. Nothing you do in-game unlocks it; see the Bugs & Fixes page for overall patch status.
FAQ
Did the 1.0 save wipe reset achievements? No. The wipe covered save files, not Steam achievements. EA veterans keep their unlocks, which is also why the global percentages already showed a full ladder three days into 1.0.
Are any achievements missable? Nothing in the public list looks missable. Kill counts, extractions and depth are all repeatable, and districts are re-raidable. Hidden story achievements are the unknown, and we will update if reports surface of anything permanently lockable.
Is there a completion-percentage cliff? The ladder thins gradually rather than cliffing: ~11% finish the tutorial arc, ~5% engage with HQ building, ~2% finish an HQ department, sub-1% see the bosses. At the HQ-building stage you are already in the top twentieth of players.
