ReStory Guide Hub - Repair Loop, Licenses, All 50 Achievements & Fixes
Guides for ReStory: Chill Electronics Repairs, the Y2K Tokyo repair shop sim by Mandragora: how the repair loop and to-do lists work, what licenses unlock, all 50 achievements with unlock rates, and fixes for the launch-week crashes.
ReStory: Chill Electronics Repairs is a narrative shop-management sim about running an electronics repair shop in mid-2000s Akihabara. Customers bring in dead Y2K hardware β game consoles, flip phones, music players, digital cameras, officially licensed Atari machines β and you take each one apart on a cutting mat, clean it, solder it, put it back together, and hand it over. In between, you buy broken devices off a fake flea market, order parts from a fake web store, pay your bills, and answer the people whose stories run through your shop.
It launched August 6, 2026 from Mandragora (the studio behind I Am Future), published by tinyBuild, on the back of 750,000+ wishlists.
Version note: Written August 7, 2026 against the launch build, updated August 9 after the developers' first known-issues list and three days of forum reports. Assembled from the Steam store page and official announcements, the game's 50 Steam achievements and their global unlock rates, official screenshots, launch-window reviews, and the developers' own forum replies β all linked inline. We have not played to completion; anything drawn from player reports is labelled as such.

How a Day Works
Each in-game day runs on a clock, and everything competes for it. Customers walk up to the shop window with devices and stories. Email brings a second stream of orders β the "Master of the Internet" achievement is simply accepting your first one, and 96.7% of players have it, so email starts early. You take a job, open the device on the mat, work through its to-do list, reassemble it, and hand it back for payment.
The repair itself is a checklist, not a puzzle you can fail: each device shows a to-do list with a percentage per task, so a paint job sits at "Paint 64%" until you have covered enough of the shell. Around that loop sit the systems that actually gate progress β tools (a professional screwdriver, a soldering iron, an ultrasonic cleaning bath, a shredder), licenses that unlock brands and device types, and bills that arrive whether or not you finished the day's queue.
Two things reviewers consistently flag about the full release: it is busier than the demo (10-15 orders a day plus side quests is a real report, not a complaint about difficulty), and almost everything is mouse-driven.
Patch Status
No patch has shipped yet. On August 7 the developers published their first known-issues list β seven bugs including the firmware-update blocker, two achievements unlocking early, and gadgets getting stuck in the sonic bath β and said the fixes are in final QA for the week of August 10. The full list, with what to do about each one in the meantime, is in Bugs & Fixes.

- First shift feeling chaotic? The Beginner Guide covers the repair loop end to end, why your shop is stuck at 3 stars, what to check when a story order will not advance, which tools and licenses to buy first, and what to do when the day's order list outruns the clock.
- Chasing 100%? The Achievements Guide lists all 50 with their global unlock rates, sorts them into the five things the game actually asks of you, covers the two achievements the developers confirmed are firing early, and explains how to reach a second story ending without deleting your save.
- Crashing, overheating, or stuck at launch? Bugs & Fixes opens with the official known-issues table, then covers the Windows 11 error 0x11C7 blocker, the minute-long save freeze and the admin-rights workaround that fixed it, parts stuck on the desk, and where your save files live.
FAQ
Is ReStory worth buying right now? The reception is strong β 96.9% positive across 2,953 reviews, 84-85 on Metacritic, 90 on OpenCritic, and roughly 100,000 copies sold in the first day β and the praise is consistent: the devices are detailed, the loop is genuinely absorbing, and people lose hours to it. Two caveats worth knowing before you buy. The launch build has real technical rough edges (crashes on window focus change, a long save freeze, heat complaints β all tracked in Bugs & Fixes). And if the demo sold you specifically on its unhurried pace, note that several reviewers say the full game's order volume changes that feel.
Is it like PowerWash Simulator or PC Building Simulator? Reviewers reach for both comparisons. The disassembly-and-clean satisfaction is the shared part. What ReStory adds is the story layer: customers recur, your choices affect them, and the storyline branches to multiple endings.
Do I need to have played the demo? No. The demo covered an early slice; the full game contains it and much more. If you did play it, expect the same fundamentals with a lot more devices, customisation and story on top.
Does it have controller support? Partial, per the store page, with DualShock and DualSense support listed. Reviews describe the game as heavily mouse-driven and several players ask for keyboard shortcuts, so mouse and keyboard is the intended setup. One caveat from the community: a connected gamepad can take over input at the very first screen β see Bugs & Fixes.
Is there a way to make the days less busy? Nothing in the game advertises a difficulty or pace setting. What players describe instead is triage: not every order has to be accepted the day it appears. Our Beginner Guide covers what the game does and does not punish you for leaving in the queue.
