ReStory Achievements Guide: All 50 with Unlock Rates & the 100% Path

Every ReStory achievement with its global unlock rate: the five tracks that make up 100%, which ones are pure time, which are rare by neglect, the five secret ones, the two achievements the developers confirmed are firing early, and how to get a second ending without deleting your save.

Last updated: 8/10/2026

Quick Answer: ReStory's 50 achievements are almost entirely cumulative, not skill-gated. Five tracks carry the whole list: repairing and cleaning, running the business (licenses, reviews, money, bills), buying and selling devices, customising them (paint, stickers, reprogramming), and simply playing enough days β€” the rarest achievement in the game is being open for 365 of them. There is no timed challenge and nothing is announced as missable. Two achievements are confirmed by the developers to fire early, five are secrets we do not guess at, and the story-branch achievements do not require a fresh save β€” the rollback method is below.

Version note: Every achievement name, description and unlock rate below is read directly from Steam's public achievement statistics for ReStory, captured August 8, 2026 and cross-checked against both of Steam's stats endpoints. Percentages moved substantially in 24 hours β€” Frugal more than doubled overnight β€” so treat the column as a snapshot of where players are, not a fixed difficulty rating.

Where Players Actually Stop

The list has one shape: a wide top, then a cliff at everything that requires repetition.

Nearly everyone completes a first repair, pays two bills and accepts an email order β€” those sit between 96% and 100%. The first real filter is reputation: 85.4% collect 5 reviews, 49.9% reach 25, and 22.6% reach 50. The second is money: 39.9% clear 100,000 yen in one day, and 23.6% ever bank a million.

The floor is time. Playing through 30 days, 90 days and 365 days are three separate achievements at 4.2%, 0.3% and 0.1% β€” a statement about the calendar, not about difficulty. Expect all three to keep climbing for months.

The Five Tracks to 100%

Repair and clean. First repair, soldering, 100 parts cleaned, then 1000 parts cleaned. The jump from Big cleaning! (64.9%) to Galactic cleaning! (0.2%) is the single widest gap on the list β€” ten times the work for a fifth of a percent of players.

Business. Bills, licenses, reviews, money. The license chain is the backbone: any license (79.0%) β†’ five (45.9%) β†’ the most expensive one (1.0%) β†’ all of them (Platinum Partner, 0.1%). Licenses gate what work you may accept, so this chain is also your progression track β€” and forum answers to stuck players keep coming back to it: if a story order will not start, the missing piece is usually the certificate it requires.

Buying and selling. Buy 5 devices, buy 25, sell 5, buy 50 boxes of parts. Cheap to chase while doing everything else, since the flea market is where your repair stock comes from anyway.

Customisation. Paint to order, first sticker, 25 stickers, 100 stickers, first reprogram, 25 reprograms. This is the track most players leave alone β€” a first sticker sits at 8.3%, and Jack of all trades asks for a single order that involves painting, cleaning, repair and hacking at once (1.6%).

Competitions. Win one (17.2%), win three different ones (15.0%), then win one in every device type (Legend of Akiba, 0.2%). The narrow gap between the first two says players who enter competitions keep entering. Competitions are also a progression gate, not just an achievement track: one stuck player was told the dog repair needs the licence you win in a competition, so a blocked story order can trace back to a competition you skipped.

The Two Achievements That Ask You to Stop

Most of the list rewards doing more. Two reward restraint, and both conflict with normal play:

  • Frugal β€” no new parts for ten consecutive days. Stock up first, then run a fortnight off salvage. Its current 38.7% is not trustworthy; see the bugged-achievements section below.
  • Bankrupt β€” get an overdue bill warning (0.8%). The one achievement that asks you to fail on purpose. Do it deliberately when your finances can absorb it, not by accident.

Akiba never sleeps! (3.8%) belongs in the same category: seven consecutive days without ending the day. A player's forum answer confirms the shop can stay open indefinitely as long as you have devices to work on, so this one is planning, not exploitation.

The Five Secrets

Five achievements carry cryptic or empty descriptions β€” Ghost in the frame (1.0%), Rock for the ages! (1.8%), Ronin (0.4%), Melancholy (0.4%) and Globalization (0.3%). Their wording points at story moments rather than statistics, and Rock for the ages! at 1.8% is now the most-held of the five, which fits a main-path story beat rather than a hidden interaction.

One player has posted a route for Melancholy β€” choosing Haruhi-favourable options: offering her a place to stay, doing the stranger's repairs, and talking to her after she asks you to repair the watch. A second player immediately contradicted the specifics: in their playthrough it was a different character who asked to stay over and raised the watch. That is what a branching storyline looks like from the outside, and it is why we are not publishing this as a route. Their guess about Ronin (helping the younger yakuza turn on his family) is explicitly a guess and stays out until someone verifies it.

Getting a Second Ending Without Starting Over

The story branches to multiple endings, several achievements sit behind those branches, and there is no save-slot interface β€” which reads like "one ending per playthrough." It is not.

The game keeps its five most recent saves on disk, highest number being the current one, with the rest as corruption backups. Players chasing a second competition or story achievement move the newest file out of the folder and let the game load the previous one:

%userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\Mandragora\Restory\SaveData

Turn Steam Cloud off before you move anything. Otherwise Steam pulls the newest save back down at launch and undoes the swap. This is a player-documented method, not an official feature β€” copy the folder before you experiment.

Bugged: Two Achievements Fire Early (Officially Confirmed)

The developers' August 7 announcement lists "How Did I Do It" and "Frugal" unlocking early among the known issues, with the fix in the patch due the week of August 10.

The unlock rates say the same thing:

  • How did I do this? is described as soldering a part, and now sits at 100.0% β€” tied with First fix!, the achievement for completing a single repair at all. A player reported it firing after brushing dust off a phone case.
  • Frugal requires ten consecutive days without buying parts, and reached 38.7% two days after launch. Nobody could have played ten in-game days of deliberate frugality that fast at that scale.

Two players have now described how Frugal misfires. Both were buying individual parts routinely β€” one right up to the day before it popped, the other daily β€” and it unlocked anyway. One of them offers a reading worth keeping in mind if you are chasing it after the patch: the intended condition may be about buying whole donor devices instead of ordering parts individually, which would make the achievement text misleading rather than the trigger broken. Nobody has tested that, and the developers have not described the condition beyond the achievement's own wording.

Players report a wider blast radius than the official list. In a forum thread on unearned achievements, one player names Business Shark (earn 100,000 yen in a day) popping unearned, and another got the soldering achievement after their first fix in a brand-new game. Business Shark's 39.9% against Millionaire!'s 23.6% is not impossible on its own, so treat that one as reported-not-confirmed.

Nothing here needs action on your part β€” these fire early, they do not fail to fire. If you are tracking your own completion honestly, note which ones you were handed and do the work anyway; nothing in the game re-locks them.
