Rock Bottom is an incremental mining game by Logan Games, released on Steam on July 14, 2026. You swing a pickaxe through procedurally generated caves, smelt ore into bars, and buy permanent upgrades that let you dig through 8 layers of increasingly strange biomes, from the Sunken Canopy down to the layer the game is named after.

It launched to a Very Positive rating (around 88% at launch) and it's a tight, finite game. Most players finish everything in 3-5 hours, and a full 100% achievement run has been done in about 3.5 hours.

How long does Rock Bottom take to beat? 3-5 hours for a full playthrough, depending on how much of the skill tree you chase. Players on the Steam forums report 100% achievement runs in about 3.5-4 hours.

Is there New Game+, prestige, or an endless mode? Not at launch. The game is a single finite run — once the story is complete, that's the content. Players have asked for an infinite loop / ascension system, and the developer is collecting feedback about a possible hardcore difficulty, but nothing is announced.

Does it work on Steam Deck? It runs, but the thumbsticks aren't natively supported at launch. Import an Xbox controller layout in Steam Input as a workaround. Ultrawide (21:9) is also unsupported — the game renders at 16:9 with black bars.

Is it worth buying? If you like incremental games, launch reception says yes with one caveat: it's short. Reviews praise the polish, music, and the power-fantasy curve of returning to old layers massively stronger. The most common criticism is the roughly 4-hour total length.
